1–2 WEEKS BEFORE:

Chemical peels use a combination of acids and active ingredients such as:

  • Glycolic Acid (AHA): Great for exfoliation and brightening
  • Salicylic Acid (BHA): Oil-soluble beta hydroxy acid that deeply penetrates pores, ideal for oily and acne-prone skin
  • Lactic Acid (AHA): Gentle exfoliant suitable for sensitive skin
  • Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA): Medium-depth peel for more advanced skin renewal
  • Mandelic Acid (AHA): Gentler acid ideal for pigmentation and sensitive skin
  • Retinoid Peels: Use derivatives of vitamin A to accelerate skin cell turnover, improve texture, reduce fine lines, and treat acne

Each peel is selected based on your skin type, concerns, and tolerance, allowing for a tailored treatment plan.

Downtime varies depending on the peel depth, but generally:

SUPERFICIAL PEELS (INCLUDING BHA AND RETINOID):

  • Mild redness and dryness for 1–3 days
  • Slight flaking or peeling

MEDIUM PEELS:

  • Redness and swelling for up to 1 week
  • Peeling and crusting for 5–7 days

DEEP PEELS:

Significant redness, swelling, and peeling lasting up to 2 weeks (usually done under specialist supervision)

Many clients notice improvements after their first treatment, but a course of 3–6 peels spaced 3–6 weeks apart may be recommended for optimal results.

Chemical peels support skin renewal, with benefits continuing to develop over the weeks following treatment.
